About Me

Hello, I’m Lauren (She/Her) and I am your Student Governor for 2022/23. I have studied here at Edge Hill for over three years, gaining my BSc in Psychology and I am currently studying my MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.  

I have always been fascinated by how the university undergoes changes to the campus, facilities and academic materials, as well as how these changes can impact the student population through their lived experiences. I am particularly interested in increasing non-traditional student retention, satisfaction and population. I am honored to be working with the board as a governor to represent the student experience and opinion, as well as those whom I am passionate about improving educational outcomes for such as care experienced, working-class, first generation, Black, Asian and ethnic minorities, and students living with a disability.  

On the board I do not shy away from voicing my opinion, and the opinion of every student at Edge Hill University. I am using my own experience and the experiences I have heard and witnessed as a member of the student body to advise and support the board as equals to create a better environment for learning and living for all students. I hope I can use this platform to make positive changes for both current and prospective students at EHU.
