Seyi Joseph, Faculty of Health, Social Care & Medicine President 2023-2024
As your newly elected President, I am thrilled to bring you the latest news of our vibrant campus community to keep you updated, informed and engaged.
My vision is to build upon the legacies of my predecessors, to harness the action potential of our combined talents and together realise our goals.
In my election campaign I promised to seek findings on pressing issues affecting our faculty and take the necessary actions.
So far on this journey I have learnt that: Our faculty is diverse, but not united as it should be. We do better when we work together as one body because, although our different characteristics and opinions matter and lend strength to greater purpose, our commonality in Humanity does matter far more. I welcome ideas on how we can achieve our aims together as I am here to listen and be your voice.
Some of the issues that have come to light involve a number of our faculty members feeling stressed and anxious about their finances due to the high cost of living, many are also struggling with their academic skills, while others feel forced to endure problems with flat mates and challenges in relationships all of which fall under the umbrella of essential life skills and where communication is desired or required, includes observing the right to freedom of expression, etc.
I will share some useful information to assist with tackling these issues highlighted above which I hope will help. For those who would like to discuss these matters further, your input and feedback is greatly encouraged and would be highly appreciated. Let's strike up some dialogue. You may email me directly via: Josephs@edgehill.ac.uk
I am launching a 21-day mental health challenge soon, and we're looking for 60 volunteers to participate in this exercise, which will only take 5 minutes of your time each day.
This challenge will involve a gratitude journal which will be filled out every day to highlight what you are grateful for in your everyday life, and highlight the small positives than can become something so much bigger. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our interest form below and we'll be in touch with more information soon.
I'm interested!
