Edge Hill Students’ Union has been made aware of a technical fault on the Union’s Unioncloud Election Web App during our Spring Election (Tuesday 15 March). The fault affected the Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic Officer standing and prevented some users seeing certain candidates’ photos on online browsers.

 

In order to ensure the fairness of our election, we will be re-opening the standing for voting on Thursday 17 March between 07:00–22:00, discounting all previous votes cast. 

 

The above action is being taken in order to ensure that no candidate has been disadvantaged and is in line with election by-law 8.6 regarding a contingency plan being in place in the event of a fault with the online system.

 

We have contacted all affected candidates informing them of the technical fault and we have contacted our website provider who have confirmed that no other standings have been affected. 

 

Results for the elections will be announced via our social media channels on Friday 18 March at midday as previously planned.
