As you all know, work has been taking place on our new Students’ Union building for some time, to get it ready for this year, but we’ve had to make some changes to our welcome week events.

We know how much everyone has been looking forward to these events, however, we’ve had to make the decision to reschedule them to ensure they are both enjoyable and safe for you all. This slight delay will allow us to make the final touches to our new Students’ Union building, so we can host the celebrations in the best possible environment, keeping your safety and well-being our top priority.  But rest assured, the celebrations are still happening – just at a later date!

For those of you who have already purchased tickets or wristbands, we’ve got you covered! Not only will all wristbands be refunded to the value of the affected events that they include, and all affected individual event tickets refunded, but you’ll also automatically be allocated free tickets to each event that you currently hold a ticket for to make up for the change in schedule. This may take some time to appear in your Native account, so please bear with us.  Your refund will be processed as soon as possible, and will take 2-3 working days for this to appear in your account.

If you hadn’t already got your tickets, don’t worry, you can still be a part of the celebrations too. On a first come, first served basis, you can also get your hands on a free ticket to whichever of the postponed events you want, but we strongly advise that you book a ticket in advance due to limited capacity.  Tickets will guarantee entry before 10.30pm for each event, after this time, any remaining capacity will be available for students who do not have a reserved ticket.  Last entry time for all events will be 11.30pm.

Where can you go during your first week?  Well, we’ve taken back the Red Bar for a limited period to ensure you still have a place on campus to meet your friends, and make new ones.  There will be a small number of events during Welcome Week which will be free to attend, such as quiz, live sports, live music and DJs running until midnight each night.

The new schedule is:

**Refunds will not be issued for Bingo Lingo; this event has been moved to an alternative date (31.10.24). If you have purchased tickets and cannot attend, you can request a refund through your Native profile.

Refunds will also not be issued for the Mocktails and Candles Event 06.10.24. This event will go ahead as planned and is unaffected.

The Warm Up Party, Ice Breaker and Cover Clash will be refunded but will not be rescheduled.**

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make sure your Welcome Week is truly memorable. We hope to still see all of you there, but if you are unable to make it, we aim to make the refund process as smooth as possible.  If you’ve got merchandise included in your wristband that you need to pick up, these will still be available to collect on Welcome Weekend, from the Students’ Union stand in the Hub.
