Edge Hill Students’ Union has been named the best SU in North West England at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2022 (WUSCAs). 

 

Voted entirely by students, EHSU ranked in the top 15 SUs in the country, alongside Unions at Cardiff University, Bangor University, and the University of Bath. 

 

The WUSCAs, now in their 10th year, are the UK’s biggest student-voted awards. The awards rank institutions according to the things that students really care about. This year, more than 30,000 students across the UK left reviews about their University. 

 

University of Sheffield Students’ Union won the WUSCA for Best Students’ Union, scoring 4.50 out of 5 and ranking first out of more than 90 participants. EHSU ranked 15th with a score of 3.97 out of 5.

 

Elsewhere, Edge Hill University ranked eighth overall in the University of the Year category.

 

The Whatuni rankings are solely driven by student opinion. As opposed to other University ranking tables, there is no cost for universities to enter and there is no judging panel. 

 

Students rate the university’s services on a scale of one to five. Whatuni combines those scores and creates an average overall rating for each university across ten categories of student experiences including students’ unions, career prospects, and facilities.

 

The awards help future students find the right uni for them, and helps university staff improve their services.
