Andddddd the match reports are back (I know, you're SO excited). This week we finally got back into the swing of things and had our first proper BUCS Wednesday after all of the Christmas festivities. We had a total of 4 home games and for once, 0 away games due to a few last minute cancellations. So let's see how our teams playing at home got on...

First up we have our Women's Hockey 2nd team. They faced Cumbria in their first game of the year! When our girls previously played them in the season, they came out with a solid 5-2 win so they were hoping to do the same this time round! Thankfully, the team played a very high level of Hockey and even had to put up with some questionable decisions from the umpires and some agressive play from their opponents. With two goals from Laura C, one from Emma S and one from Sophie C, the girls came away with an excellent 4-1 win. Man of the match was a three way tie (how exciting) and was awarded to the captain Mel, Emma S and Em R. Our favourite D*ck of the Day (unsurprisingly) went to Rachel E for tripping over and then staying down on the floor whilst laughing at herself for a good five seconds before getting herself up. We're so proud of our 2nd team as they are doing so well this season. And this win means that they have now extended their lead at the top of the table!!!

Onto our Badminton teams... We'll start with our Men's 1st team who faced Liverpool John Moore's. They put in a solid effort against tough opponents and managed to come away with an amazing 5-3 win!! They have won every game so far this season, which is such an incredible achievement. Keep up the good work guys (they even have a chance of winning the league now and we have every bit of faith in them). Now for our Women's 1st team. They faced Sheffield and after an hour delay in the opposition arriving, our girls kept their composure and easily beat their rivals with an astonishing 8-0 win. And finally, our Men's 3rd team followed in similar footsteps whilst putting in another great performance versus Liverpool John Moore's. They came away with a fantastic 6-2 win!!

All of our teams on Wednesday came away with a win... how incredible is that!!! Super proud of everyone involved. Keep up the good work, the end of the league is in sight!

Next week we have a LOT of fixtures coming your way. It's a very busy week, but we know it'll be worth it when all of our teams come back with even better performances!! (If that's possible...)

See you next week!
