We are excited to be welcoming you to campus this week with a great programme of events. However, it’s with a heavy heart that we’re letting you know we won’t be able to unveil our new £8.4m Students’ Union just yet as there has been an unforeseen delay in the final stage of development. As a result we have had to make some changes to the events planned for Welcome Week.

We know how much everyone has been looking forward to this week but we want to provide you the best student experience we can in the long term so a slight delay is necessary for some of the planned events.

All paid-for tickets will be refunded and students will be contacted by the SU with details of how to access free tickets to rescheduled dates. For more information please contact the SU direct on sucomms@edgehill.ac.uk.

The SU will relocate back to the Red Bar temporarily so students have a place to meet and access to free events including quizzes, live sports, live music and DJs. They will also host the Welcome Fair in the Hub. In addition Student Life will be hosting Student Life Fest, roller disco, sports tasters, Get Connected Events and Free Film Friday at the Arts Centre.

We are genuinely sorry for the disappointment this will cause and we want to assure you that our contractors are working flat out to complete the project. Here’s a reminder of what you’ll find in your wonderful new Students’ Union once it’s fully opened: plenty of social spaces, music venue, bars and a roof terrace.
